2012 ZNA Holiday Families Project Details & Wish List -- Contributions needed by 12/15! -- For many years, the Zilker Neighborhood Association has sponsored families in need from Zilker Elementary School for the holidays. Again, this year the ZNA is sponsoring eight families, each nominated by the elementary school counselor. If you feel you and your family have been blessed, please think about paying your blessings forward by donating a gift, gift card or cash to the ZNA Holiday Families Program. Cash DonationsPerhaps you don't have time to shop. That's okay--our Zilker elves can do the shopping for you! Contributions to the fund can be made securely online through this form. Simply add a "Holiday Families Program Donation" to your cart and you'll be lead to PayPal to complete the transaction. You can also send a check, payable to Zilker Neighborhood Association, to: Skip Smith, ZNA Treasurer Put "Holiday Families" on the memo line. Every dollar we receive will be spend on our families in need. Gift DonationsBring your new and unwrapped donations to 1704 Kerr St. ("Santa Central"). Santa will be on the porch waiting for you! Please call 447-4437 to let us know that you are coming. Our Zilker elves will do all the wrapping and delivering for you. But in order to get the gifts to our families, we need your donations by Saturday, December 15.

2011 Holiday Family Donations ... a Very Merry Christmas Indeed!!! from Andy Elder, ZNA President A couple weeks ago, 8 families with 27 kids woke up to a brighter Christmas morning, thanks to the dedication and generosity of our Zilker neighbors. I'm proud to report that ZNA's Holiday Family Program was a resounding success! Each year our team of Zilker Elves organizes donations, shopping, wrapping and delivery for several families at Zilker Elementary who could use help during the holiday season. This year our program coordinator had the additional challenge of being out of town for a week in December, and pulled together a fantastic effort to get everything under the tree early on Christmas week. I want to recognize some of our key volunteers:
And most of all, thank you to the numerous neighbors who volunteered, donated, inquired, shopped, dropped off, and otherwise helped make this possible. This year was the first time in several years that I can recall where neighborhood donations exceeded our budget, allowing for some extra gifts and a positive balance to start off next year's holiday fund. I hope this news caps off a joyous holiday season for everyone, however you chose to celebrate it.
